Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor CLI
Describe the Bug
When typing across multiple lines in the input box, the caret doesn’t follow properly and sometimes you type without seeing the text you’re typing. Potentially related to Cursor Agent CLI: CJK IME candidate window does not follow input caret (Alacritty + WSL2 + Zellij) - #5 by deanrie.
Steps to Reproduce
Paste multiple lines in the input box e.g.
1
2
3
4
5
6 end of box
Two issues:
- As you scroll up/down through lines it snaps certain lines to the box instead of smoothly scrolling the input box.
- Biggest issue: If you type at the end of a line, sometimes the input box shows the first few lines instead, so you can’t see what you’re typing. To get around this, I sometimes add a space at the end of the line and type before the last space so that the caret doesn’t disappear.
See screen recording: The jitter isn’t from any box refreshes I think, it’s just me going back and forth between the current (hidden) line where I’m typing and the main text shown, to demonstrate.
First screen recording is my SSH → tmux session, second is just plain CLI over SSH (no tmux, still happens).
Expected Behavior
The input box should follow the caret and you should be able to scroll smoothly up/down your text box.
Screenshots / Screen Recordings
Watch the recording to the end (I’m typing in the background).
