Cloud Agent default model "Sonnet 4.6 High" shows in dropdown but fails with "not available for your account"

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Background Agent (GitHub, Slack, Web, Linear)

Describe the Bug

When setting the default model for Cloud Agents to “Sonnet 4.6 High” in the dashboard (cursor.com/dashboard?tab=cloud-agents), and then assigning a Cloud Agent to a Linear issue, the agent fails immediately with the error: “The selected model ‘claude-4.6-sonnet-high-thinking’ is not available for your account.”

This is inconsistent — Opus 4.6 High works fine as the default model. Only Sonnet 4.6 High fails. The model appears selectable in the dropdown UI but does not actually work.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to cursor.com/dashboard?tab=cloud-agents
  2. Set the default model to “Sonnet 4.6 High” (claude-4.6-sonnet-high-thinking)
  3. Assign a Cloud Agent to a Linear issue (or trigger one via any integration)
  4. The agent starts and immediately fails with: “The selected model ‘claude-4.6-sonnet-high-thinking’ is not available for your account.”

For comparison: setting the default model to “Opus 4.6 High” works without error.

Expected Behavior

The Cloud Agent should successfully start and use Sonnet 4.6 High as requested, since this model is available in the account (it’s on the Ultra plan with on-demand usage enabled) and is listed as an option in the dropdown.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a bug. The model shouldn’t show up in the dropdown if it can’t actually be used.

We’ve seen a similar pattern before with Sonnet 4.6, where the model appeared selectable but wasn’t hooked up on the backend. I flagged this with the team. No timeline yet, but your report helps us prioritize it.

As a workaround for now, Opus 4.6 High should work as the default model for Linear-triggered agents.

Let me know if you run into anything else.

Hey, I have the exact same issue.
Here are all models I have in my dashboard:

But the in Linear, when start the agent, I get this error message!
