Hi,

most of my installed plugins are not compatible with cloud agents.

I only use Cursor for cloud agents and would be nice to have that supported the same way as local.

Examples:

- Convex MCP
- Turbopuffer
- Railway
- Google Products (Separate Issue - Auth 2.0)

Please help / fix, thanks!

Hey, thanks for the report. A couple different things got mixed together here, so let me go through them in order.

Plugins do work in Cloud Agents. Skills, rules, and commands from installed plugins are synced to the agent VM. What looks like an incompatibility is usually MCP server auth, which is handled separately for cloud vs your local IDE login.

How it works:

1. OAuth MCP servers like Google products, Linear, Mintlify, and so on
Each server needs to be authorized separately for cloud at [cursor.com/agents](http://cursor.com/agents) in Tools / MCP or from the agent tool panel. The login you did in the local IDE does not carry over to cloud. That’s why runs may skip the server with a message like `requires authentication. Please authorize this server in cursor.com/agents`.

2. stdio MCP like Convex with `npx -y convex@latest mcp start`
This runs directly on the VM, but there’s no browser there to complete an interactive login. You’ll need to pass credentials like a Convex deploy key via Cloud Agent secrets or environment variables. After that, the MCP should start.

3. Railway
This is a remote HTTP MCP with OAuth, and it should work after you authorize it on [cursor.com/agents](http://cursor.com/agents) as in step 1.

On Google products, you’re right. There’s a separate Auth 2.0 issue. I’ll reply in your thread [Google Plugins broken (Auth 2.0)](https://forum.cursor.com/t/google-plugins-broken-auth-2-0/167780) and let’s keep that discussion there.

On full plugin parity with local, that’s a reasonable request and I shared it with the team as feedback. Try the steps above first, and if any specific MCP still won’t start, tell me which one and I’ll take a look.
