Composer 2 overrides any other models

Steps to Reproduce

Right now I am literally forced to use Composer, even if I toggle on/off, Auto, …even after running back my prompts, nothing works.

Expected Behavior

I want to use Claude but I am forced to use Composer. Cursor is literally unusable for me now.

Hey, thanks for the report. The team is aware of a similar issue with the model picker. Some fixes already shipped earlier, so this might be a regression in 3.0.12.

Try this:

1. Fully quit Cursor Cmd+Q not just closing the window, then reopen it
2. Start a new chat, manually pick Claude Opus 4.6, and check if the selection stays

If it still happens after restarting, please send the Request ID right corner chat menu > Copy Request ID

The issue where Composer 2 overrides model selections has been addressed in a recent Cursor update. Updating to the latest version should resolve this.
