Hey, thanks for the report and the screenshot. What you’re seeing isn’t a problem with your network and it doesn’t depend on the model, so everything fails the same way. This is a known issue on Windows. The component that starts the Agent inside the IDE doesn’t start, so messages never leave your computer. We’re tracking it.
Most of the time this is fixed by installing a missing Microsoft runtime. Please try these steps:
Fully close Cursor, open Task Manager, and end any remaining Cursor processes.
Run the installer. If it says it’s already installed, choose Repair.
Restart your computer.
Open Cursor, create a new chat, and send a short hello.
If it still doesn’t work, open Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console, send a message in the chat, and paste the lines that mention cursor-agent-host or native binding. That’ll make it clearer what exactly isn’t loading.
