Creating multi-repo workspaces from Cursor Agents

I’m not sure what changed but I’m suddenly unable to find any way to create a multi-repository workspace from my local Cursor Agents application window. I was previously able to multi-select/check different folders/repos and name the workspace and now this functionality is… gone?

I now instead see a new folder button that just… creates a new folder in my Users/ folder? I didn’t need Cursor to do that…

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

Hey there!
The feature wasn’t removed, it moved. We recently redesigned the New Agent repo picker, and the old Set Up Workspace entry (checkboxes + workspace name) was replaced, so it’s not where it used to be.

Here’s the new way to create a multi-repo workspace from the Agents Window:

  1. Open the repo/project picker on the New Agent page.
  2. Hover over the row for your local machine (it’s labeled On This Mac, On This PC, or On This Computer depending on your OS) to open its flyout.
  3. Flip on the Select Multiple toggle near the top of that flyout.
  4. Check the folders/repos you want (pick at least 2).
  5. Type a name in the Workspace name field that appears, then click Done.

One heads-up: the Select Multiple toggle only appears when at least two folders are listed in that flyout, so if you don’t see it, your repos probably aren’t in the recents list yet. Opening each of them once should get them to show up there.

And the New Folder button you ran into is a separate, new option: it creates a brand-new empty local git repo through a save dialog (defaulting to your default folder location), which is why a folder appeared under your user directory. If that folder is empty and you don’t want it, it’s safe to delete.

You’re right that this is harder to find than it used to be. That’s fair feedback, and it’s something we’ve already heard internally, so I’ll make sure your report is added to it. If the steps above don’t get you there, let me know your OS and I’ll dig in further.
