I noticed adding files as context now shows the Cursor project rules matching the files when using rules with glob patterns in the little context bar above the chat.

Does that mean the agent will never reference the files linked to glob patterns unless they are matched at the beginning of an interaction?

Based on [https://docs.cursor.com/context/rules#rules](https://docs.cursor.com/context/rules#rules) and my testing, that seems to be the case, but I wanted to confirm before migrating more of my rules to auto-selection.

I originally thought it worked more dynamically. For example, if the agent started modifying a file, it would starting using the corresponding rules matching the glob patterns mid flow.
