# Cursor agent (CLI) cannot modify file in hidden directory

### Describe the Bug

Hello Team!

I encountered this error when trying to edit a markdown file inside a hidden directory:

│ .cursor/docs/PLA-941.md Blocked by permissions configuration │

When I checked the file permissions using `ll -al`, it showed full read and write access.

The confusing part is that the behavior seems non-deterministic — most of the time I can edit the file, but occasionally I cannot.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

### Steps to Reproduce

Prompt “do edit docs sync with code”

### Expected Behavior

edit docs

### Operating System

MacOS

### Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

2025.08.22-82fb571  
cli. there is not menu

### Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. Could you let me know which model you are using? I just checked with all models and it’s working for me.
