SG, no you have not missed this thread - you responded to it earlier, so you have seen it. Now - I am not sure if you are working for Cursor or not - but if so, this is appalling. if not - my apologies then - then I am accosting the wrong person here. As a community ambassador, what would your role be then?

To clarify: I’m a Community Ambassador – I don’t work for Cursor. I help volunteers in the community, but I don’t have access to internal systems or the ability to fix bugs directly.
Could you still quickly check the size of your local chat database? (Path: ~/.config/Cursor/User/globalStorage/state.vscdb or %APPDATA%\Cursor\User\globalStorage\state.vscdb on Windows)
Is it less (~100mb or 8-10GB == 2 month of chat usage) ? Were logged out after update ? I’m speculating that the chat history is there but the actual contents are no longer there, maybe thats the reason why chat loads endless?
The data was small - 2MB. I have restarted since, so the database has now grown again from scratch. Like the other users, the database with content was completely wiped, but the titles remained. I cannot remember now if I was logged out at that exact time, but I was logged out around that time - difficult to say if that is because of a logout or because of data loss. I have moved on - there is no benefit anymore for me to pursue this further, as I know that you are not storing the data on your side either. I am now manually making backups of my chats occasionally. Thanks for trying though.
