Cursor Cloud cannot add Github repo

Describe the Bug

I opened Cursor Web and went to the cloud, and I connected my GitHub repo and gave Cursor full access. But when I click on the button to create a new repo, it takes me to the GitHub Cursor connector page (even though it is already configured). As such, I am unable to create a new repo from the Cursor Web Agents tab, but I can see and use my existing repos.

Go to https://cursor.com/agents and click Select repo → Add repo.

Hey, thanks for the report. Nothing’s broken here. The Add repo button on cursor.com/agents doesn’t do what you expected.

Add repo or Add Repositories doesn’t create a new repo. It gives the Cursor GitHub App access to repos that already exist on GitHub. That’s why it sends you to the GitHub connector page. That’s where you pick which repos to allow access to. Right now, you can’t create a new repo directly from Web Agents.

To get what you want:

  1. Create the repo on GitHub at Sign in to GitHub · GitHub
  2. Since you already granted access to All repositories, the new repo should show up in the picker automatically. If it doesn’t, click the refresh icon on the Add Repositories row.

I’ll share the idea of creating repos directly from Web Agents and making the button label clearer with the team as feedback. Let me know if the repo still doesn’t show up after these steps.
