Please add the desktop-equivalent option on Cursor - The best way to code with AI | Cursor - The best way to code with AI
Enter = newline; Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on macOS) or the send button = submit.
The desktop app already has “Submit with Cmd+Enter” under Settings → Agents.
That setting does not exist on the web UI.
I use Cloud Agents because I want to use Cursor even in environments where the desktop app is not available.
Why this feels especially bad with Japanese input:
Japanese users switch between English input and Japanese IME very often.
For paired marks such as （）, 「」, and <>, we usually type the pair first, then move the caret inside and type the content.
Arrow keys still work while full-width （） is waiting for IME conversion.
Continuing to type Japanese while it is still unconfirmed is not a common style, because pressing Enter in that state moves the caret to the end of the unconfirmed text (after the closing mark). So we press Enter to confirm, then use the arrow keys to move inside.
If we do the same with half-width () or (IME still in alphanumeric mode), that Enter submits the unfinished prompt.
A common case is intending 「」 and typing instead, which then gets sent.
This is not “the product is broken.” The current Enter-to-send feel is too hostile for this input style.
