Hey, thanks for the detailed report with the stack trace and Request ID, that really helped.

This isn’t intended behavior and it’s not related to your settings. Multitask should open the chat, not crash with Something went wrong. From the logs, your agent run on the server completed normally. The crash is happening in the panel renderer.

Workaround for now:

  • Click Reload in the crashed panel.
  • If one specific conversation crashes every time, try opening a different one. The crash seems tied to that conversation’s state, so other chats should still load.

I’ve passed this to the team. I can’t share a timeline yet, but I’ll post an update here when I have one. If Reload doesn’t help, or you notice a different pattern, like it only crashes on a certain conversation, let me know.

Hi Dean, Thanks. Cursor restart doesn’t help.

Other chats are working, until I open again that one - and after that the panel is crashed and I need to restart Cursor again;

Thanks, that’s a helpful detail and it really helps narrow down the cause. Based on what you described, the crash is tied to the saved state of that specific conversation. Everything works until you open it, and after that the panel stays broken until you restart. I’ve passed this along to the team as an extra note on top of the previous report.

Since Reload and restart don’t fix that conversation, here’s a practical workaround for now:

  • Don’t reopen the broken conversation. Start a new Multitask chat instead.
  • If you want to remove it from history, delete it directly from the agents/chats list via the context menu without opening it. Opening it is what triggers the crash.

If a new Multitask chat also starts crashing and not just this one conversation, please let me know. That would point to a different pattern and we should look at it separately. I’ll reply here when there’s an update.
