Hey, thanks for the report. I can see the screenshot with the error “An unexpected error occurred on our servers”.

Even though it says “servers”, this kind of generic error often happens when the connection to our servers drops before a response comes back. This can happen on some networks, VPNs, or proxies. I’ve passed this to the team so they can check the network path.

What you can try right now:

  1. Open Cursor Settings, find HTTP Compatibility Mode, switch it to HTTP/1.1, then restart Cursor. In older builds, this is the Disable HTTP/2 option, please turn that on too.
  2. If you can, send a message from a different network, for example using a mobile hotspot from a different carrier. This helps confirm whether it’s tied to a specific network.

If it still fails, please share:

  • The Request ID from the failed request. To get it, turn off Privacy Mode in Cursor Settings, then use the chat menu in the top-right corner > Copy Request ID
  • The output from Network Diagnostics. Cursor Settings, search for Network Diagnostics
  • The approximate time when it failed

That’ll make it easier to figure out what’s breaking the connection. Let me know how it goes.
