Cursor Grok 4.6 is injecting “marl” into the code, having to edit it again and wasting tokens. Why this behavior?

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

Hey, thanks for the report. I can see in the screenshot that Grok 4.6 inserted an extra word marl right into the code.

This looks like model-side behavior. Sometimes the model can output an extra token or word that doesn’t belong in the code. It’s not something in your setup.

What you can do right now:

  • Switch to a different model, like Grok 4.5. I don’t usually see this there.
  • Ask the agent to reread and fix its own change. That usually removes the extra bit.

So we can look at this specific case, could you share the Request ID from that generation: three-dot menu on the answer > Copy Request ID. Note that if Privacy Mode is enabled, the Request ID might be unavailable.
