Cursor icon shows a notification bubble in the top right corner even though there is no new AI response. typically it does that when AI responds but sometimes it still shows a notification bubble even though I have already checked the response AI gave me.

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue we’re tracking. On Windows, the badge on the Cursor icon can sometimes stay there even after you’ve already read the agent reply in the IDE. I’ve passed your report to the team.
For now, you can clear the badge like this:
Click the ^ hidden icons arrow in the Windows notification area near the clock, right-click the Cursor icon, then choose Clear All Notifications.
If you want to remove the badge completely, turn off Cursor Settings > General > System Notifications.
One quick question so I can confirm which indicator you mean: is it the bubble on the Cursor icon in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, or on the small Cursor icon in the notification area near the clock? If it’s the taskbar one, also try Win+N then Clear all. Windows tracks those notifications separately.
Thanks for clarifying. If this is the badge on the taskbar icon, Windows is calculating it from Cursor notifications that are still in the Notification Center. The fastest way to clear it is:
Press Win+N to open Notification Center, then click Clear all.
If you want to remove the badge completely, turn off Cursor Settings > General > System Notifications. Then Windows will stop counting those notifications.
We’re already tracking this. The taskbar badge doesn’t always reset after you open the agent’s reply. I’ve shared your report with the team. I can’t give an ETA yet, but I’ll post in the thread if there’s an update.
