Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
The Cursor 2 model does not appear in the model selection dropdown in Cursor IDE, so I cannot choose it even though I expect it to be available for my account/build. It is my daily driver.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Cursor IDE.
- Open the model selection control (e.g. in Chat / Agent / the model picker in the UI—use the exact place you use).
- Open the dropdown list of models.
- Scroll/search the list for Cursor 2 (or the exact name shown in release notes).
- Observe that Cursor 2 is not listed.
- Same issue for IDE and Agent manager
- Able to select Cursor 2 in CLI mode, BUT I AM NOT USING AT ALL. I AM NOT FAN OF CLI VERSION.
I AM ONLY RELY ON “COMPOSER 2” MODEL SO YOU CAN ASSUME THAT CURRENTLY CURSOR IS UNUSABLE FOR ME RIGHT NOW.
Expected Behavior
Cursor 2 should appear in the model dropdown alongside the other selectable models (assuming my plan and app version support it)

Hi @JigneshKhokhaniWork, sorry for the trouble, this is a known issue for macos and the current version,
The bypass that exist for now is to go in the settings and manually adding Composer 2 in the menu, it should then appear to be used normally.
@Tom_Coustols Thanks for the quick solution but Composer 2 already in the model list so there are no effect even if I add new custom model.
And even if Composer 2is enabled in Models list, I can not shows the Fast version of Composer. I don’t use Fast at all due to quality issues.
this is a known issue for macos and the current version,
As you are saying it’s know issue, is there any active thread where or similar bug report where I can track the status ?
Oh well haha, just saw the other thread was actually, fixed, do you see this in your cursor instance? if not, try updating manually cursor
Oh my god,I never noticed this tiny Edit button where you can toggle Fast mode.
It’s awesome—but there should be a way to make this change more noticeable to users.
Ohhh yeah I just show and post the reply.
Thanks for the solution
You are awesome !!!
Indeed! We are taking all feedback! glad the issue is resolved! Good coding!

Does this stop you from using Cursor
No - Cursor works, but with this issue
same issue here . They must have done it on purpose
Man this is so frustrating , composer 2 fast did a disaster today , committed code to the wrong project and pushed it !!
Cursor team need to notify us of such changes not to get surprised in every update
