Show token usage directly in the model selector
Currently, users can view their token usage in Cursor Settings or on the Cursor Usage Dashboard, but this information isn’t available when selecting a model.
When switching between models, users must leave their current workflow to check their remaining usage, making it harder to choose the most appropriate model based on their available quota.
Adding a token usage indicator next to each model in the model selector would surface this information where decisions are actually made. A simple progress bar or remaining token indicator beside each model would provide immediate visibility into available usage without requiring users to open Settings or the Usage Dashboard.
This would reduce context switching, make model selection more informed, and provide a faster, more seamless experience by exposing existing usage data directly within the model picker.
