### Describe the Bug

Cursor is lagging badly. The app becomes unresponsive. I have a mid-complexity project, nothing enormous. I don’t even have images yet.

Cursor just starts lagging after a few messages. Can’t scroll, have to wait for the program, can’t even type without it pausing.

This is ridiculous that there’s no concrete understanding of this problem that’s been apparently happening for over a year.

### Steps to Reproduce

Repro steps:

1. use cursor
2. make any project that isn’t “hello, world.”
3. keep adding features
4. notice cursor eventually becomes unresponsive

### Expected Behavior

when i click on the cursor program it should respond.

when i type in cursor chat, it shouldn’t pause for 20 seconds every 30 words.

when i scroll any cursor scroll bar, it should scroll without hanging the program for 20 seconds.

### Operating System

Windows 10/11

### Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 1.2.4 (user setup)
VSCode Version: 1.99.3

Electron: 34.5.1
Chromium: 132.0.6834.210
Node.js: 20.19.0
V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0
OS: Windows\_NT x64 10.0.26100

### Additional Information

I think all anyone wants is some clear understanding of the issue… perhaps even from someone at Cursor to acknowledge this problem and where it is on roadmap or what suggested steps are.

### Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

I think there are too many workspaces and extensions. Check out this link

I don’t really use extensions.
