They are shipping features instead of shipping value.
The Cursor interface is getting worse every day. There are constant updates, but no clear direction. It feels like the team is struggling to align on priorities.
The interface breaks often. Agent Mode keeps being pushed, and now in Cursor 2.2, when I close the chat, the chat button simply disappears. I have to turn it on again every single time. This is basic functionality and should not be failing.
The product is becoming increasingly complicated and confusing. The path should be the opposite: simple, stable, and gradually improved. It feels like decisions are being driven by fear of losing to Claude Code instead of a real focus on user experience.
Honestly, I am seriously considering going back to VS Code. In its current state, this IDE feels unreliable and poorly polished.

same problem here. latest Cursor with no extensions on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. chat window constantly losing focus to “plan.md” in plan mode. e.g. you would start a chat, submit a question, then just you as you type a follow-up question in chat window, plan.md steals the focus and some of your keystrokes get inserted into the middle of the markdown document.
switching back to chat window does not help - plan.md keeps stealing focus and basically you’re unable to use chat window until plan finishes rendering. 100% reproducible all the time. Super annoying recent “enhancement”. please fix asap !!!
