I missed this thread when I started mine. So sharing here: It is generating code in a mix of English, Spanish and Chinese. Then later it identifies this and starts translating into English. This has never happened, for me, before today. Using Auto. Examples:
: (.*?)( in .*?:[0-9]+)?$/im
then : (.*?)( in .*?:[0抹9]+)?$/im
then back to : (.*?)( in .*?:[0-9]+)?$/im
After the update to 2.0, the Auto mode seems to have regressed significantly. The biggest problem I have is that sometimes it randomly injects unicode characters into filenames:
---
Tool use: **read_file**
Read file: src/Services/Issuer/Issuer.Api/Program.cs
---
Could not find file 'src/Services/Issuer量产/Issuer.Api/Services/SomeService.cs' in the workspace.
It also attempts to list_dir for an undefined directory:
---
Tool use: **list_dir**
<details>
<summary>Listed directory undefined • **0** results</summary>
No results found
</details>
---
Later on it tried to access a tool in apparently Russian?
---
Tool тотпас not found.
---
In the request with privacy disabled, none of the above were hit, but it did codebase_search and had weird symbols injected into the summary.
---
Tool use: **codebase_search**
<details>
<summary>Searched codebase "What services and functionality are implemented in the Issuer API?
有志target_directories
['src/Services/Issuer']" • **15** results</summary>

@condor this is now a full issue reported in lots of places now over the last 72 hours - anyone at Cursor even reading this stuff anymore, or is it an empty forum for rants?
What is the correct method of support - this cost me a ton of time and energy yesterday - more than the cost of the years Pro Plan - and I require support and an suitable / appropriate reaction from your company.
Just trying out Cursor for the first time today and I found this thread because I am getting random Chinese characters inserted throughout my prompt results.
@condor - thanks for moving and consolidating the ticket - how about an update on a fix or “anything” from the product team about what is going on?
Or do we need to wait for the number of reports to pass a certain level - update yesterday broken the ability to read any previous work done, then another update is pushed today and that breaks being able to import (copy/paste) even previous contexts to try to “spot refresh” in the current context.
Would it be possible to get some sort of positive acknowledge as to where this issue “sits” relative to the rest of the issues? Many companies provide the view into the BUG Number created so that people can see the status as this provides a bit of assurance and transparency that in fact things are being looked at.
In 5 months, i have yet to see a single post that shows a “Here is the issue/ticket number and this is address/fixed in this release with a Resolution/Remedy information”.
While this forum is great, seems that its just “venting” rather than a dialogue back and forth - rather we “post” things that are broken, and have no idea where they sit, priority or if/when it will be address - i.e. Goes into a black hole!
for me, last 48 hours of work is now lost and gone and the best we have is “try this or that, things might have been corrupted, we pointed this out’.. how about something a bit more informative?
Hi @Daniel_Smith,
I passed your reports to the team right away when you mentioned them. Bug reports are gathered and reviewed together so the engineering team can understand the overall impact and scope, this is part of our standard process. When an issue is resolved, we post an update in the forum and push changes to users directly (often covering several fixes grouped together).
I know everyone wants more visibility into the tracking and prioritization. While we don’t publish individual ticket numbers or their status externally, please be assured that every report is seen and checked by the engineering team as we want you to be able to use Cursor. Community feedback like yours is crucial to improving both the product and our communication.
If I learn anything specific about a timeline or the status of this issue, I’ll update you here. Thanks again for raising these problems and giving thoughtful suggestions!
