I’m in the same boat as many here, with suddenly hitting rate limits. Despite the great UX, I’m looking at moving to Claude Code and using Cursor just for diff. I would prefer to stick with Cursor but this new plan feels anything but “unlimited”.
Same, I spent $30 yesterday (on top of pro plan) using the same exact volume as I have for weeks. Something is definitely different, so I’m out. It’s been fun.
Usage based pricing is calculated based on the underlying compute used for the request and is charged based on model API prices.
Cursor’s pro plan uses the word ‘unlimited’ as if it’s better than before, but Claude 4 Sonnet doesn’t even give me the old slow speed limit, and they tell me to get a different model or use the ultra plan. This is the worst user experience ever and has made me consider other services.
Since the ultra plan update, I can’t get any information about how much agent model usage is left, I don’t know how long I have to wait for the next usage, I just have to wait, and the switch to another model is ruining my work.
To be honest, I preferred the Pro tier. Back then, I had 500 fast requests per month and could clearly track my usage—that’s all I needed.
I don’t care about the new “unlimited” model.
I had 500 fast requests, and I should be free to use them all in one day if I want to.
Please listen to your users—ignoring real feedback risks undermining everything you’ve built.
Shame, cant even spend my 370\500 limits with new update.
If you really do not have a benefit of the new plan, you can switch to the old plan in Dashboard > Settings > Advanced account settings
Terrible option when there is a fix
Could you be more specific? I answered to a specific users question and the answer is related.
The Pro plan works for most users better than before.
In my Pro package, the ones with claude-4-sonnet and thinking still give errors.
Even though I am on the Pro plan and the model panel shows “unlimited” for Claude 4 Sonnet, I consistently receive a “You’ve hit the rate limit on this model” message after only two prompt submissions. This happens repeatedly and disrupts usage.
I have the same issue
if you go into your advanced settings within the website you can op out of the new pricing format and just like that back to how it was
