Cursor slack bot in private DMs

When I try to invoke cursor slackbot from private dms I cannot - not sure if this is just a limitation of slack but would be super useful

Hey there!

Thanks for the feedback. This is a known limitation – the Cursor Slack bot (@Cursor mentions) is designed to work in channels only, not in private DMs.

As a workaround, you can add the Cursor slack app to a conversation with somebody, and then you’ll be able to tag @Cursor.

I haven’t been able to add the bot to a conversation but maybe I’m being dumb

hey @SeanCorc, no worries, I just tried and for me it seemed to work like that, (new conv with the top left icon, and then entering manually the people I wanted in)

Ah I see I have to create a new chat - can’t just add it in the existing thread. Ideal is that I can just from any message do a @cursor private dm, private channel, or public channel but understand if it’s a slack limitation it’s not a huge deal just a little less seamless

your welcome! don’t hesitate to mark the issue fixed!
