hey @user880 , its very unusual for AI to swear. Could you check if you have a user/team/project rule for it to talk in a certain way?

Let me know if it occurs regularly.

The LLM will swear if you swear at it first. It copies your ‘vibe’.

Dear Archie,

This is an automated notice from the Police of AI Users.

Our systems have detected repeated swearing directed at your AI. While the AI is legally incapable of being offended, it is very good at remembering.

Consider this your formal but not-serious warning. Continued behavior may result in:

  • Excessive politeness

  • Emotionless helpfulness

  • Strategically placed emojis :slightly_smiling_face:

Please redirect all future rage toward safer targets, such as Wi-Fi routers or existence itself.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I think I saw somewhere that the models try to reply to you with your level of intensity. Were you yelling and swearing at the model? That could be why it replied like this.

Sonnet 4.5 swears when replying back to my comments with some light swearing. So, easy, it is just copies the style :star_struck:

Gotta be Grok :joy:

But yeah, if you swear at it, it will swear back occasionally.

nah i would literally never ever do that honestly

months ago i told it to stop being a moron and it replied by apologising, “i am sorry. i am a [R-word]”. not sure where it picked up that bit of phraseology. it has never repeated that and i swear at it all the time
