Cursor v1.7 - Pre-release Discussion

As always, for those with early access, let’s discuss what’s new in version 1.7.

I’ve been testing the nightly builds for a few days without noticing major changes, but the early access release just dropped about an hour ago.

I haven’t discovered anything significant yet, but I’m curious to hear what others have found.

anything else besides this?

You just copied what I wrote for 1.6 lol, you should have removed the part saying it dropped in early access as it barely even reached nightly yesterday.

We’ll see changes over the next few days and weeks, but Cursor said they’ll start releasing changelog with early access so that will help.

I noticed a bug since 1.7
before i could have selected terminal text and hit ctrl+l or ctrl+c and then paste into chat and it would attach it as context, but now what it does is paste as regular text into chat input and ctrl+l does not work at all

Has anyone noticed the pricing change?

Guys, I see no one is talking about pricing, but I noticed a very critical change, the price has increased. Even though I’m not part of the new pricing system, it looks like they’ve already started applying it.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I wonder if in this version the statistic will start working.

It should be fixed now, let me know if it isn’t.

not sure if this is 1.7 news or was before, but auto run finally works as intended, thank you:
at first nothing is allowed and i can allow all mcp calls or commands one by one, perfect

cursor 1.7 ssh remote always get stuck

Really hoping for a VS Code version bump in v1.7

I’ve noticed that Cursor cannot handle virtual file systems correctly. It does not support tab completion or adding the “Active Tab” to the chat, presumably because the active tab is a virtual rather than on-disk file. I know there are issues with the SSH extension presumably for similar reasons ( Compatibility with "SSH FS" extension )

VSCode handles this fine.

Any chance this is fixed in 1.7?

git worktrees added, you can now run a prompt with several models locally in parallel and pick the changes you like the most! huge update

We’re working on this. Not fixed in 1.7

How do you access this feature(worktree)? I have ticked in settings. But what next?

open the new agent window and there you can select number of models you want, but for me, on the latest nightly 1.8 patch 7 i no longer have that option
