Cursor web vs client

Describe the Bug

Hi!
I wanted to ask, cause I have a feeling that web app is secondary citizen here  I started using Cursor Agents, but I want to use them outside of home, from my mobile device. But it does not work so well as Agent IDE.

  1. I can’t change model during conversation. This is big bummer. I’m using at least two different models many times. Since I can’t share state on Cloud Agents between chats as in Cursor IDE, I’d like to change model during conversation at least. Possible on Agent IDE, not possible on Web
  2. What’s actually more confusing, I’ve changed on IDE Agent to Gemini and on browser I see ‘codex’ This is big issue here.
  3. I can’t find a way to add new agents in browser/change. Only use base pool. On Agent IDE I can do this, but this does not synchronize.

I have question, is it recommended not to use browser? I can’t even see category for browser bugs  Because if I need to use IDE and have to have my mac or PC running, Cloud Agents are without purpose to me.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to start new agent
  2. Try to add new models
  3. After starting new conversation ,try to change model

Expected Behavior

I can pick/remove models
I can change model during conversation

Just as in Agent IDE

Operating System

Windows 10/11
MacOS
Linux

Version Information

Browser issue - chrome

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. Point by point:

  1. Model switching mid-conversation in the web UI. This is currently behind an internal feature flag and hasn’t been rolled out to everyone yet. I can’t share an ETA.

  2. cursor.com/agents shows codex instead of Gemini. This is a known display bug. The web and IDE use different model display paths, so they can get out of sync. We’ve already got reports from other users, for example: Cursor 3 web interface for Background Agents shows wrong model and can't change models. No fix timeline yet.

  3. Managing agents and environments from the browser. The web version doesn’t have the full configuration surface that the IDE has yet, so there’s a parity gap. Environment management like repos and egress exists, but not the full agent setup. I’ll pass the feedback along.

We’re not creating a separate category for web bugs right now. Please post them in Bug Reports with the tag cloud-agents / web, we do see those.

On your request about not using the browser. You can use it, but for some flows like switching models mid-run and fine-tuning agents, the IDE is still smoother for now. When there’s an update on item 2, I’ll reply in the thread.
