Every model performs differently in the harness. When I ask Claude-family models to make changes in Jira, they always use the Atlassian Plugin (skills and mcp) without any instruction to do so.
Cursor Grok 4.5 always tries to access Jira through the CLI and writes custom bash scripts to make changes. This is fragile and not even configured on my machine, and leads to long useless loops. I ALWAYS have to tell Grok to use the MCP.
I want to set custom enforced rule file that applies to specific models only. So I can tell Grok models to always use the MCP without adding useless context to other models.
It would be very helpful to have Skills apply only to specific models as well. The best practice for prompting Fable 5 is very different than prompting Composer 2.5. Using the same skill for both will lead to poor outcomes in one or the other.
