Dart/Flutter Target of URI doesn't exist - Cursor creates new dart file in UTF-16 LE

You can control the default encoding for files on Windows using the files.encoding setting. By default, Cursor uses UTF-8, but you can change your settings from UTF-16 LE, to UTF-8.

How to Set the Default Encoding Globally

1. Open Cursor settings
2. Open Editor Settings
3. Search for “files.encoding”.
4. Find the Files: Encoding option.
5. Set it to your preferred encoding, such as utf8.
