### Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor CLI

### Describe the Bug

When I am using Debug Mode in Cursor Cli, sometimes I will be asked to delete a debug log file, while simultaneously being asked if the changes fixed the debug issue. So I will see the debug window (Marked as fixed, write follow up, etc) while also being asked if I want to delete a log file. This will cause Cursor to fail to take input until I press Escape, then I can respond to one of the prompts.

### Steps to Reproduce

- Enter Debug Mode, prompt to debug a problem.
- Wait for changes to complete, receive prompt to approve changes.
- At this point, I’ll be asked either to approve changes or delete log file.

### Expected Behavior

I should be able to answer both prompts without having to click escape.

### Operating System

Windows 10/11

Hey there!

What you’re running into isn’t intended behavior, and it’s not anything on your end. In debug mode the CLI can surface two prompts at once - the debug decision window (“Mark as fixed / write a follow-up”) and a pending command approval (in your case, the prompt to delete the debug log file) - and keyboard input only reaches one of them, so things get stuck until you press Escape. This is something we’ve seen before, and an issue we’re tracking.

A couple of things that help in the meantime:

- The Escape approach you found is a good interim move - it clears one prompt so you can answer the other.
- To sidestep the overlap entirely, add the commands you trust to your allowlist, or run the debug session with auto-approval on, so a command-approval prompt won’t pop up alongside the debug window. Auto-approval runs commands without asking, so only use it where you’re comfortable with that.

No timeline to share yet, but I’ll post an update here when I have one.
