Dictaction while in Design Mode + Page Reload

Describe the Bug

When I use the design mode in the cursor browser, which by the way is awesome, I’m often dictating stuff while in the background an agent is working on something else in the UI and all of a sudden it gets a hot reload or a live reload of the page and then I lose my started transcription. It works if I already submitted it then the input doesn’t get lost but if I’m still transcribing I lose the transcription completely.

Steps to Reproduce

Start up an application with a live reload. Use that application in the design mode in the cursor, agent, browser and select an element. Start dictating and make a change in the background of the application so that the app is reloading automatically and then you have it.

Expected Behavior

Like with text mode, the input should remain even though the page is reloaded. So the dictation should continue and can be completed.

Operating System

Linux

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hi @nerumo Thank you for the bug report! I was able to reproduce this issue, and we’ve let the team know. For now, you can avoid losing the dictation by either:

  • Stopping dictation and waiting for the transcript to appear before the page reloads.
  • Using the Add to Chat shortcut shown in the Design Mode input, then dictating in the main composer instead.

I’ll post here when there’s an update.
