I’m trying to set up the newly announced Jira Integration so I can start Cursor Agents from Jira.
It says that I must be a Team admin to create the integration, but I have an Ultra account. Does this mean that I cannot add this Jira integration for myself? Switching to a Team account would be a huge loss. The docs mention teams and admins but no requirements are clearly defined around account types that are supported. I would think that this would work just like the Slack integration or Github and I’d be able to connect my account.
If this is a Teams-only feature, then it should clearly say so in the Docs.
Hey @Stephen-S-H, since Jira requires team org level access (that is either in the Team or Enterprise plan), it cannot be used as part of other Cursor plan unfortunately, as of now, only solution is the Jira MCP but it does not cover the full Jira integration.
We’re updating the docs and dashboard UI to make this clearer, and while there are some technical limitations to enabling this, once those are solved, we will come back to making this available for individual users.
Thanks all, I’m excited to use this functionality if it becomes available to general users. The Atlassian plugin works well for the time being. That or clever use of Jira Automation Webhooks and Cursor Automations that listen to them. That approach is not so user friendly though!
