Don't hide the other models

Grok has been getting pushed incredibly hard. First it was non-stop notifications about using Grok, emails about savings, automatically switching to Grok in new chats, etc. Then when I turned those off it has no spun up sub agents to use Grok to do work. I had to disable that too and I explicitly added “for subagents use X model for this type of work and Y for this type of work” etc.

That has been fairly frustrating, and people have been posting about it at work so others feel similar, however, today all my models got hidden as well as my coworkers so I know it isnt just my setup.

It’s becoming an actual issue because I’m having to manually select my new models, add agent file updates, etc repeatedly throughout out the week to battle to not use Grok.

It’s getting to the point that team members are organically now exploring other tools like Antigravity and such. We/I love Cursor. Please just stop trying to trick us into using Grok.

Hi @oscargodson, Thank you for weighing in here, and I’ve escalated your concern internally. While we experiment with nudges to encourage users to try our latest models, I totally understand the concern that it feels unnatural or too much as of late.

All of your typically accessible models should still be there, albeit under Other Models. Appreciate your understanding as we try out new model picker options, and I’ll circle back here if I have any updates to share.

Since this post, less than 48hrs, I’ve gotten an email, again, about Grok and now this is popping up. Once a user says no to Grok I wish it would go away. It’s a daily thing to say no to Grok in different ways (disabling the models, archiving emails, dismissing alerts, changing the models being flipped, etc).

Thank you for sharing your feedback, I have passed it along.
