Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug

After a recent Cursor update, multiple models sometimes reply multiple times to a single user message.
This is not repeated text inside one response. The chat shows multiple separate assistant messages for the same prompt.
Reproduced with Auto, Codex, and GPT-5.5.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a new chat in Cursor.
  2. Send a simple prompt, for example: “Reply only once: received”.
  3. Observe the chat response.
  4. Repeat with different models such as Auto, Codex, and GPT-5.5.

Expected Behavior

Cursor should generate and display only one assistant reply for a single user prompt.

The issue appears across multiple models, not just one model.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Thanks for reporting this. Would you be able to share a screenshot of the behavior and a Request ID next time it happens?

It would also be great to know if the duplicated text remains after running Ctrl + Shift + P > Developer: Reload Window.
