Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
After a recent Cursor update, multiple models sometimes reply multiple times to a single user message.
This is not repeated text inside one response. The chat shows multiple separate assistant messages for the same prompt.
Reproduced with Auto, Codex, and GPT-5.5.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open a new chat in Cursor.
- Send a simple prompt, for example: “Reply only once: received”.
- Observe the chat response.
- Repeat with different models such as Auto, Codex, and GPT-5.5.
Expected Behavior
Cursor should generate and display only one assistant reply for a single user prompt.
Operating System
Windows 10/11
