Just a piece of feedback that I’d really appreciate an easier way to rename conversations to keep my chats organized so if I need to reference something from a few days ago or even a few weeks ago, it’s easy to find. Claude code has a /rename command, which is pretty helpful. But it doesn’t work that well. If there was a /rename that actually worked well, that would be huge.
Hi @SeanCorc Thanks for reaching out! This is actually already a feature that’s live today. To use it in the CLI, use the /rename command and provide a name after:
If you’re in the Cursor App, you can right click on the chat in the sidebar and rename it (this works for both Agents view and the IDE view)
Hi Kevin thanks for the response. I use the cursor app - would love a /rename there and for it to automatically rename based on the context and choose a good name even if it took like 2-3 seconds but even if not that latter part just a /rename would be a lot better than having to move the cursor to a precise location right click left click then start typing. It’s small but makes a difference for me
Ah! In that case, you can simply right click on the chat and you can rename it from there. (This works in both Agents view and traditional IDE view)
Yes I do this now but it is just really slow.
Like I said, I know this is a small thing but when I want to rename every chat it adds up.
It’s one of the few developer ergonomics things Claude Code has over Cursor IMO
