# Error: Connection to Cursor server failed: Failed to connect to Cursor server from Windows. (When conect to WSL)

Os: Windows 11  
Cursor version: 1.0.1

Hi Cursor team,

I want to connect to WSL to develop a project using Docker, but when I use the **Remote - WSL** extension to connect to WSL, I receive the following message:

**“Connection to Cursor server failed: Failed to connect to Cursor server from Windows. Please try rebooting WSL by running ‘wsl -d Ubuntu --shutdown’ and then reconnect.”**

I have tried shutting down WSL as instructed and reconnecting, but the issue still persists.

What should I do to resolve this?
