Closed and opened the Cursor, Now I see this warning :
The diff algorithm was stopped early (after 5000 ms.)
with remove limit button

The same prompt is fine after closing and re-openning Cursor, and removing The diff algorithm was stopped early (after 5000 ms.) limit. I am not sure it was the resolution but I will update you here.

Definitely an issue on long conversations on Windows. Got some complaints around this.

We are working hard to get clear reproduction and steps and fix this. Thanks!

@Juan just so you know mine was not long context. It happened on all chats including new ones. I haven’t used Cursor today but yesterday it seemed resolved. Maybe an issue with caching or indexing?

I’m getting same problem on Mac on a chat with a single message sent

Same problem here. I’ve tried 4 different models, all with the same error. Cursor last version. Windows 11.

needs to be resolved as soon as possible…

Also in some of them my credit has dropped!

Me too, same problem. Loading for long time (generating…)

Same in Linux: Error calling tool ‘edit_file’.

Long conversation with agent: gemini-2.5-pro-exp-03-25 and claude sonnet 3.7.
If I open new chat and start over it shows the same error on the same task.

I’ve switched to another project for now and everything works in it so far.

Maybe you can somehow reset the cache or recreate the project with the error and this will help fix the error at least for a while? Has anyone tried it?
