# Error Editing Files. Cursor cannot edit files.

### Describe the Bug

The screenshot shows me using different models one after another. They all end with an error.  
They generate a chat response, but each one reports an inability to edit files. So none of them successfully completes the task.  
Finally, I turn on the Claude 4 Sonnet and it works immediately.  
All the instructions are identical: copy and paste.  
So why can’t the other three models perform simple .php file editing? But the Claude Sonnet 4 suddenly can?

### Steps to Reproduce

The prompts sent for various models randomly cause editing errors. They cannot be edited; they can only be read. Despite using the main agent without any file editing restrictions, of course.

Windows 10/11

### Does this stop you from using Cursor
