Very often i’m getting error on IDE that stuck my chat and I need to open a new one

Steps to Reproduce

Start a conversation, keep asking for changes or talking, and some time later, will appear

Expected Behavior

Dont show a error message forcing me to start a new conversation

Hey, thanks for the report. I see the screenshot with the error “An unexpected error occurred” and the Request ID.

Based on that Request ID, the request never reached our servers. This looks like a dropped connection that the chat uses for streaming. Because of that, the session can’t be restored, so it suggests starting a new chat. Let’s try this order:

  1. Cursor Settings > Network > switch HTTP Compatibility Mode to HTTP/1.1, then fully restart Cursor.
  2. In the same place, run Run Diagnostics and check if everything is green.
  3. If you’re using a VPN or a corporate proxy, try without them.
  4. Make sure you’re on the latest version of Cursor.

If it keeps happening, send 2 to 3 more Request IDs with Privacy Mode turned off so we can confirm whether requests are reaching the backend. Let me know how it goes.
