“We’re having trouble connecting to the model provider. This might be temporary - please try again in a moment.”
I check Cursor/Anthropic status and it looks okay. Restarted a few tries. Re-tried a few times. Is this just temporary from crazy demand? Or is this specific to the work I’m doing? (I assume it’s the former but want to double check)
Steps to Reproduce
Change Model to Fable 5

Hi! Thanks for the report. We’re digging into this, it seems to be an unexpected error that occurs with how the thinking steps of Fable 5 are formatted. This becomes unrecoverable in the conversation, so any subsequent turns in the same convo won’t work. Please try a new convo, if that doesn’t work, please switch models temporarily. We’ll let you know when we have a clearer resolution.
Same! This is super disruptive. Wastes time and money. Im not going to finish this project witha any other model. I spend thousand of dollars a month on Cursor. WOuld appereciate a refund and or credits. Heres what I copied from the error. ALso could not login to the forum using my account so I created a new account with the same email for forums i guess..
