'm a heavy user on the $200/month plan, and I typically run out of credits within 10–20 days. After that, I’m forced to switch to Codex or ChatGPT to continue my work.
I’d like to request a mid-cycle credit refresh feature. This could work as:
A one-time manual reset with a prorated charge, or
An optional “top-up” pack that restores credits immediately
This would allow power users to stay on your platform without interruption. It also gives you additional revenue from users who are already heavily engaged.
Many of us would gladly pay extra to avoid the downtime.

This case is covered today via on-demand usage. You can turn it on in your billing settings and set a spend limit that works for you. After you use up your included allowance, you can keep working pay-as-you-go at the same API rates, with no downgrade in speed or answer quality, so you don’t need to switch to a different tool. If you’re consistently hitting the limit in 10 to 20 days, it might be worth looking at a higher plan. It’s usually more predictable than one-off overage charges.
For the exact option you asked about, a manual early cycle reset with a prorated charge, or a discrete top-up pack, we don’t have that right now, and I don’t have a timeline for it. I guess we’ll never get this, but instead being able to buy blocks of “Pro” plans would be nice. Especially when we can just use two accounts for the same thing…
e.g. top up your $200 with a $20 pro plan ($420 of API and a combination of the two for First Party)

Currently, if I use up my entire monthly usage allowance before the subscription renewal date (e.g. subscription renews on the 3rd, but I’ve used everything by the 22nd), the only options are to wait until the next billing cycle or pay for extra usage.
I’d like the option to start my next subscription period early. For example:
My plan renews on the 3rd of each month
I’ve exhausted my usage by the 22nd
I can choose to renew early on the 22nd, get charged the full amount for a new period, and receive a fresh usage quota immediately
This would let users who hit their limit early continue working without paying overage rates, while still paying the normal subscription price. It would be especially helpful for heavy users who consistently run out of usage mid-cycle.
Would this be possible to add?
I actually contacted Cursor support today asking about this exact situation. I am on Pro+ at $60/month, and when I have an unusually heavy development month I can burn through the included usage well before the billing cycle ends.
On demand usage technically solves the problem, but financially it can get difficult to justify. I can spend the equivalent of my entire monthly Pro+ subscription in on demand charges during a single day of heavy coding, sometimes within just a few hours.
I would much rather have the option to simply pay another full $60, immediately receive another Pro+ allowance, and have that day become my new renewal date.
I also think there is a pretty good business case for Cursor here.
Pro+ is $60 for 3x usage, while Ultra is $200 for 20x usage. Even if a Pro+ customer had an unusually busy month and restarted their subscription three times, they would pay $180 for roughly 9x usage. Cursor would collect almost the price of an Ultra subscription while still providing less than half of the included usage.
It would also fill a gap for people whose development workload changes from month to month. A customer may occasionally need a lot more usage without wanting to permanently change their subscription to $200 every month.
This gives the customer predictable costs, gives Cursor additional subscription revenue, and still leaves Ultra as the much better option for people who consistently need that level of usage.
Support confirmed to me that this is not currently possible and said they would pass the suggestion along to the product team.
I would love to see Cursor put this idea in front of the community and see how many users would actually use it. I suspect there are quite a few of us who would rather voluntarily restart a paid billing cycle than use open ended on demand billing.
