In the chat section of the IDE, if a user interacts with the agents in RTL languages such as Persian or Arabic, the responses from the agents are incomprehensible. Please address this issue.
Steps to Reproduce
just take with agents in Persian language for example because the response contain English word its going to incomprehensible
Expected Behavior
Something like the ChatGPT site could handle this issue.
Hey, thanks for the report. This is an issue we’re already tracking, and I’ve linked your report to it. Chat doesn’t detect text direction yet, so replies are rendered left to right. When Persian and English words end up on the same line, word order and punctuation can look mixed up. The text itself isn’t corrupted. If you copy it into an editor that supports RTL, it reads correctly.
Until this is fixed, this helps a lot:
Open Cursor Settings → Rules.
In User Rules, add a rule like: “When replying in Persian, put English words, file names and code identifiers in inline code, and put Persian and English on separate lines where possible.”
Start a new chat.
Some community members also maintain extensions that apply RTL styling to the chat panel. They’re collected in this thread: Add RTL for chat
I can’t share a timeline for a built-in fix yet, but I’ll post here when there’s an update.
