Reading the forum, I get the feeling that Iโm almost the only one who uses Gemini in Cursor. Is there anyone else who uses it as the main model? ![]()
Although maybe we just have a lot less problems than Claude enjoyers ![]()

haha, you are not the only one for sure. But lets se what others do with Gemini ![]()
im using gemini sometimes but lately it gets stuck in loops quiet often, thats why i switched back to sonnet in the last days
While I probably wonโt be using Cursor anymore when the old pricing plan is sunset, as of right now Gemini is pretty nice. I like itโs reasoning, though it does seem to be too hard on itself! It has some problems with tool calls, as well. Itโs not a good replacement for Sonnet (or Opus) yet but it performs okay and it does great with a lot of (file) context.
Gemini has been great overall. I switch between it and o3 from time to time when one starts hallucinating.
Itโs good to have Gemini and o3 if Claude Code struggles, and for planning.
gemini-2.5-flash + web search = underrated, itโs free to use and perfect to collect context in order to plan with grok-4 or 2.5-pro
Mental health for Gemini
Would enjoy more fun examples ![]()
2.5 Flash with RIPER 5 is also great for research/info gathering.
