Ive been playing about to try get Gemini to be able to edit without messing everything up, the instructions file is the best Ive gotten with it so far, ive been asking both Gemini and Claude both to show me the exact command they used when an edit fails, and the only thing that i keep seeing is if a comment e.g //, is right above or under the existing code comment. if anyone has anything to add to the instructions, please chip in.

What’s the purpose of that last edit_file at the end of these instructions?

That was me not looking before jumping, that should of been removed, I was using that area to adjust the amount of code before and after a change and asking Gemini to apply the command, until I got one that worked consistently.
