Git hooks are not working with Cursor commit

Describe the Bug

Cursor 3.21.16’s bundled git extension injects core.hooksPath=/dev/null into every git process it spawns, so commits from the Source Control panel bypass husky, lint-staged and the tsc gate. No setting controls it. Terminal commits run the hook normally.

Steps to Reproduce

Have a git hook with husky
Try from terminal & time it
Try the same commit from Cursor IDE

Expected Behavior

Cursor commit should run exactly like the terminal version

Hey everyone, Thanks for the reports and for your patience on this one. A fix for Source Control commits skipping git hooks is coming in Cursor 3.22 (the next minor release of Cursor). Once you’re on that version, pre-commit, commit-msg, pre-push, and Husky hooks will run again for commits, pushes, checkouts, and other actions started from the Source Control view, the same way they do from the terminal.
