I swear y’all are just being greedy by making it basically go up to 100% context every time before cursor decides to collapse the context

Hi @SkylerJi and thank you for your post.

While you can /summarize the context at any time it is not a good idea to keep chats growing that long.

This is not about being greedy as we were asked by many users not to summarize early.

Best practice:

  • Keep chats short and focused on a single task.
  • Start new chat for new tasks
  • Do not attach files/logs etc manually, let agent discover them efficiently.
  • Use Plan mode before implementing features to avoid follow-ups and corrections.
  • Use Subagents to do specific sub-tasks efficiently without polluting context.
