When I try to select Grok 4.7 or other recent models, such as Gemini 3.8, from the Cursor App model selector in Slack, they don’t appear in the model picker.
For now I have to write model=grok-4.7 each time I want to launch a Cloud Agent on Slack.
Steps to Reproduce
Open the model selector using @cursor settings in a Slack channel.
Search grok-4.7, it is not in the list.
Expected Behavior
Grok-4.7 (and other recent models) should appear in the model picker.
You’re right, the model list in the Slack settings card is behind the models available elsewhere, so Grok 4.7 and Gemini 3.8 don’t show up there yet. I’ve flagged this to the team.
In the meantime, you can save Grok 4.7 as your default from the web dashboard, so you don’t need to add model=grok-4.7 to every message:
Under your personal settings, open Default Model and pick Grok 4.7.
Back in Slack, run @Cursor settings. The card should now show Grok 4.7 as your model.
Launch agents as usual, without model=.
One caveat: until the Slack list is updated, avoid clicking “Change Settings” then “Save Changes” in that Slack card. The dropdown doesn’t include Grok 4.7, so saving from it clears your default. If that happens, just set it again from the dashboard.
