IN the new release its not possible to continue use GROK 4!!! why? —> i try to used and its not available in the app or plan

To clarify: I am a paid user who had unlimited access to Grok 4 (256K) before this update. After upgrading Cursor, the full Grok 4 model is no longer available in the dropdown at all — only Grok 4 Fast and Grok Code remain. This is a regression that removes a paid feature I was actively using. Please restore access to the full Grok 4 model.

Does the official team have plans to support grok-4.1-fast? It’s priced the same as grok-4-fast but smarter.

Thanks for the report and sorry for the confusion. Grok 4 was removed due to low usage, but you can add it back using custom model identifiers.

Add this model key: grok-4-0709

Instructions: Cursor Settings → Models → scroll to “Add Model” at the bottom, paste the key above. Let me know if you run into any issues.

However, upon checking your official documentation at cursor.com/docs/models, I see that Grok 4, Grok 4 Fast, and Grok Code are still explicitly listed as supported models. This appears inconsistent with the report of removal due to low usage. Could you please clarify the current status? If it’s indeed available via the default options, the custom addition might not be necessary.

We’d appreciate any insights to resolve this and ensure smooth integration for users.

you can do the following

to use all the grok model with your pre-paid credits.

If you have a xAI console, you can login and go to the “models” tab to see the correct names you can use.

If you want to use 4.1, then you need to use your own API keys
