Grok Bot 0.68.1 local execution fails on Pop!_OS 22.04

Hey, thanks for the report, and extra thanks for digging up the exact symbol versions and module path. That saves a lot of time.

This is a known issue that we’re already tracking, and I’ve added your report to it. In short, the current Linux build of Grok Bot pulls in a native module built against a newer C++ runtime than what’s available on Ubuntu 22.04-based systems, including Pop!_OS 22.04. Because of that, local execution doesn’t start and fails with ERR_DLOPEN_FAILED. Chat and cloud computer aren’t affected, and updating to a newer version of Grok Bot doesn’t help for now.

As a temporary workaround, local commands should work from a machine running Ubuntu 24.04 or newer, or from another OS, as long as it’s logged into the same account. I wouldn’t recommend replacing the system libstdc++ or installing packages from experimental PPAs, since that can break other things on some systems.

I’ll reply in this thread when there’s an update.
