Hey @xufeng, thanks for the detailed report. The timestamps and logs were very helpful, and everything matches what we’re seeing.
This is not the old helper issue from the August thread. In recent macOS versions, the Mac puts the local connection into a standby state when it thinks nobody is using the computer, for example when the screen is locked or when the Grok Bot window has been in the background for about 10 minutes. The connection should come back when the bot needs it again, but right now it only comes back when someone interacts with the Mac again. That’s why things start working again when you turn the display on or click the app. This is a known issue and we’re tracking it. I can’t share an ETA yet.
For now, this should help keep the Mac mini connected:
- Keep the Grok Bot window open and in the foreground, not minimized and with no other app covering it.
- Turn off locking when the display goes to sleep: System Settings > Lock Screen > “Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off” > Never. The display can still turn off.
Only do step 2 if the Mac mini is in a physically secure location, since it disables the lock screen.
I’ll post here as soon as we have a version that can be used to re-test this.
