My Grok Bot has completely stopped working and can’t connect to any network. It worked reliably on my home computer, but then I tried to get Grok up and running on the corporate network at work, and even though the IT administrator says everything is set up exactly as you describe in your instructions, it just doesn’t work. I’ve tried everything. According to the IT administrator, Grok isn’t even visible as attempting to connect.
Hey Kamil, thanks for the detailed report and the screenshots. They show “Reconnecting to your computer” and “Couldn’t check for updates”, and this looks like your work PC can’t reach our servers, not an issue with the Bots themselves. Your Bots and data are fine, so please don’t press Recover or Reset. It won’t help and can just make the state confusing.
Key point for your IT admin: allowing domains on the proxy isn’t enough. The app needs the PC itself to be able to open a direct outbound HTTPS connection (port 443) to our domains, with TLS/SSL inspection disabled for them. That’s why the proxy might not even see the connection attempts. Domains (full list in the docs):
To figure out what’s being blocked, please run this on the work PC and send the results:
Open PowerShell (Start > type “PowerShell” > Enter).
curl.exe -v https://api2.cursor.sh and copy the lines with “Connected to”, “issuer:” or “Failed”/“Could not”. On a normal work network you’ll see “issuer: … Amazon”, on proxy-only setups you often see “Failed to connect”.
nslookup api2.cursor.sh and copy the output.
Connect the same PC to your phone hotspot for a minute, open Grok Bot, and tell me if it connects.
On your phone, open Grok Bot first on mobile data (Wi-Fi off), then on office Wi-Fi, and tell me where it works.
If it works on the hotspot but not on the office network, the fix is on the network side (direct HTTPS from the PC to the domains above). If it doesn’t work even on the hotspot, tell me and we’ll look at the PC itself (antivirus or endpoint security can also block the app). Let me know what the tests show.
