Describe the Bug

Grok Bot (desktop agent app) — “Somewhere else…” → Grok Bot.

Recurring Grok Bot Windows desktop renderer crash in the chat/message view:

TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘subject’)
at ue (file:///C:/Users/mikee/AppData/Local/Programs/Grok%20Bot/resources/app.asar/dist/renderer/assets/view-CVqP_9g7.js:1:4134)

Also referenced: index-DVUCYGay.js. Component stack includes view-* and Suspense around the message/detail view.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Grok Bot 0.16.0 Stable on Windows.
  2. Open the Plutus agent chat (heavy with secret-request credential cards + routine updates; Task/browserUse activity / timeouts nearby).
  3. Interact with / stay in that chat.
  4. Observe repeated renderer crash reading .subject on undefined.

Expected Behavior

Chat/message view should render safely when a message/detail object is incomplete; no TypeError.

Hi @mikeechafin Thanks for the post. That isn’t intended, and it isn’t caused by anything in your setup.

This is fixed in the latest Grok Bot desktop (0.18.0). Please use Check for Updates again and install that build. Let me know any follow-up questions!

Hi @mikeechafin — this is fixed in the latest Grok Bot desktop. Check for Updates, install the newest build, and those chat-view crashes on approval cards should be gone. If anything still looks off after that, reply here.
